Ninth-graders Alden Morales, Luke Friedl and Cole Carson of JSerra High in California took three of the top four spots in the Division 2 boys freshman 3-mile race at the 48th Dana Hills Nike Invitational at Dana Hills High in Dana Point. Morales prevailed in 16:17.4, Friedl was runner-up in 16:30.6 and Carson finished fourth in 17:00.4, contributing to a second-place performance for JSerra by a 49-57 margin behind Mira Costa High.
