JSerra secured back-to-back Division 4 girls titles with a 71-82 victory against Oaks Christian at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. JSerra became the first Division 4 girls program to win consecutive champioships multiple times, also winning three in a row from 2010-12. Sophomore Brynn Garcia covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:57.6 to place sixth, freshman Summer Wilson took 13th in 18:19.5, freshman Kaylah Tasser achieved 16th in 18:27.2, junior Brooke O'Brien finished 24th in 18:49.1, senior Anastasia Snodgrass earned 27th in 18:55.0, junior Georgia Jeanneret grabbed 31st in 18:56.9 and senior Ellie Johnson was 57th in 19:43.5 for the Lions, who also became the first Division 4 program to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals, earning one of four national at-large berths to compete Dec. 3 at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
